American Idol Host Simon Cowell Defends Kelly Clarkson

Host and American Idol judge Simon Cowell has jumped to the defense of Kelly Clarkson, insisting she deserves the opportunity to try some of her own ideas for her forthcoming album, My December.


The Because Of You singer was recently forced to deny claims label bosses at RCA and Sony BMG were upset with her songwriting attempts for her third studio release, as was widely reported in the media.

And Cowell believes the record company should let the American Idol winner experiment a little with My December, because they are "lucky" to have such a talented artist on their books.

He says, ''Kelly is not a puppet; she does not like to be told what to do. She could have gone the easy route, which is, you go with (Since U Been Gone producer) Max Martin - it's a guaranteed success. She made it absolutely clear that she wanted to steer the musical direction on this record."

American Idol : is it Rigged?

Sources of American Idol has come forward to reveal winning contestants are pre determined by the American Idol staff well before America votes. It's been alleged by a news source that Jordon Sparks was picked as the winner in the first few week of the competition.

Allegations claim The Howard Stern Show and the web site, Vote For The Worst, made such a profound impact on the voting that American Idol was forced to juggle the vote tallies to compensate for what they considered a stacked vote.

According to sources, Sanjaya was not actually voted off American Idol but was rather pushed off the show by the American Idol staff.

Howard Stern's news research department got inside information that, beat boy, Blake Lewis, was in line for the axe. Howard 100 news reported this prediction before the show. Insiders reported American Idol panicked that the outcome had been reported and pulled the bait and switch giving Melinda Doolittle the axe last minute. Paris Hilton will not serve 45-day jail sentence.

Paris Hilton, who was sentenced to 45 days in jail for violating her probation, has had her jail sentenced reduced by half. Paris will now serve only 23 days in jail. Additionally, Paris Hilton will be separated from the rest of the jail inmates "for her protection."

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department decided to reduce Paris Hilton's jail sentence because of her "good behavior" over the past weeks (www.forbes.com).

Paris will be serving her jail time in Century Regional Detention Center, located in Lynwood, a Los Angeles Suburb (www.forbes.com). Century Regional Detention Center is considered a "special needs facility." Officials said that because of Paris Hilton's high profile image, this special housing was necessary.

Hilton has been ordered to report to the jail by June 5th, 2007. Once in the 2200-inmate facility, Paris will get at least an hour outside her cell each day. During this time Hilton can shower, watch television, go outside or talk on the telephone (www.forbes.com).

Sylvester Stallone apologizes over illegal drugs!

Rambo - Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone told an Australian court yesterday his importation of two banned muscle-building hormones was a "terrible mistake" caused by ignorance of local laws.

Stallone will be sentenced on Monday next week after he pleaded guilty to bringing dozens of vials of the restricted drugs into Australia during a tour to promote his film, Rocky Balboa.

"I made a terrible mistake, not because I was attempting to deceive anyone but I was simply ignorant to your official rules," Stallone said in a letter to Sydney's Local Court, claiming the drugs had been perscribed to him for an unspecified medical condition.

"I feel terrible that my breach of the rules has set a poor example to members of the public, whose opinion I cherish dearly," he said.

Lawyers for the 60-year-old star of the "Rocky" and "Rambo" movie franchises entered the guilty pleas yesterday on behalf of the actor, who did not appear in court.

Stallone was charged with importing banned substances into Australia after a customs search of his luggage at the start of a three-day visit to Sydney in February revealed 48 vials of the human growth hormone product, Jintropin.(source : taipeitimes.com)
