Tom Cruise’s stalker was arrested last Thursday near his Beverly Hills home. Emily Diane Leatherman, 32, was taken into police custody after showing up unannounced at the Mission Impossible star’s mansion.I don’t think she was there for information on how to join up with Scientology, either. Apparently, Emily Diane Leatherman is a well-known name amongst celebrities.
Last July, John Cusack won a three-year restraining order against a woman bearing the same name as the woman arrested at Cruise’s. Cusack’s admirer left love letters, rocks, and screwdrivers in his garden to show her love.
At the time, Leatherman said she was trying to contact Hollywood stars like Cusack because she wanted to bring attention to the fact she was raped years ago. However, the Beverly Hills Police Department has refused to confirm if the person arrested on Thursday was the same woman who targeted Cusack.
Leatherman was arrested at Cruise’s home on suspicion of receiving stolen property and violating a restraining order. Sergeant Rex McEvoy refused to confirm what the items were or which restraining order she had violated. Whether Tom or his wife Katie Holmes were home during the incident is unknown.
